Wheeler Bros., Inc. Featured in Smithsonian Institute’s National Postal Museum Virtual Exhibition
ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- VSE Corporation (NASDAQ: VSEC) reported today that its subsidiary, Wheeler Bros., Inc. (“WBI”), is featured in the Smithsonian Institute’s National Postal Museum virtual exhibition, “America’s Mailing Industry.” This display describes the partnership between the U.S. Postal Service and private industry that has helped American communication and business for more than 200 years.
The National Postal Museum invited companies and organizations that are part of America’s mailing industry to submit their stories in an effort to highlight the comprehensive mailing industry history. CEO/Postmaster General Megan Brennan, representatives from the Smithsonian Institute and members from the mailing industry, including Wheeler Bros., Inc., gathered in Washington DC to commemorate the virtual launch on September 13, 2016. WBI is a trusted partner of the United States Postal Service, serves on the USPS Postal Supplier Council, and is a seven time recipient of the USPS “Quality Supplier” award.
“WBI is proud to be featured in this important exhibit highlighting the variety of companies who support the U.S. Postal Service,” said Chad Wheeler, President and COO of Wheeler Bros., Inc. “Since 1989, WBI has been instrumental in extending the service life of the LLV, our nation’s neighborhood delivery trucks. Our company has reverse engineered more than 650 vehicle parts for the postal fleet on items that are no longer available from the manufacturer, to assist in keeping this large fleet of vehicles on the road for the past 25 years.”
“America’s mailing industry is quite possibly the most successful government-private sector partnership in our nation’s history,” said Allen Kane, director of the National Postal Museum. “We are excited to tell this story as most people don’t even know the industry exists.”
