VSE Named Letterkenny Army Depot 'Supplier of the Year'
Ceremony Held During Fifth Annual Letterkenny Business Opportunity Showcase
ALEXANDRIA, Va.-- Commander of Letterkenny Army Depot (LEAD) Colonel Cheri Provancha recently presented VSE Corporation (Nasdaq GS: VSEC) with the Supplier of the Year award for 2009-2010.
The ceremony was held in conjunction with the fifth annual Letterkenny Business Opportunity Showcase (June 2-3) attended by more than 50 federal, state and local government agencies and companies from across the nation. Also in attendance was Army Materiel Command Deputy Commanding General Lieutenant General James Pillsbury who provided the key note speech. The showcase is a cooperative venture of the Franklin County Area Development Corporation, Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce and co-chaired by Governor Ed Rendell and Congressman Bill Shuster (9th District-PA).
Colonel Provancha remarked, "VSE Corporation operates as Letterkenny Army Depot's prime contractor in support of the Route Clearance Vehicle Modernization Program located in Kuwait. Through VSE's efforts, Letterkenny Army Depot has been able to improve their performance by reducing man hours and customer wait time while maintaining quality. VSE has had less than 2% deviation of inventory and zero loss of accountability. Thanks to the great efforts of everyone at LEAD Forward, our operation has become the benchmark for future operations. What we have accomplished has made a huge impact on many missions accomplished by the Nation's Warfighters."
