VSE Corporation Board Chairman Receives Tech Council of Maryland Lifetime Achievement Award

ALEXANDRIA, Va.-- VSE Corporation (NASDAQ GS: VSEC) Chairman of the Board Clifford M. Kendall was honored as the first recipient of the Tech Council of Maryland Lifetime Achievement Award at a black tie dinner gala recently at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center. He has been serving on the VSE Board since 2001, and was elected Chairman in May 2010. The Tech Council of Maryland Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Mr. Kendall for his exemplary leadership, commitment, generosity and compassion to the local community at large.

The former Chairman and CEO of Computer Data Systems, Inc. (CDSI), graduated from the University of Maryland, where he earned his bachelor's degree in finance. After graduation, he received an ROTC commission and served in the Air Force; later earning his MBA at George Washington University. Prior to the founding of CDSI, his career included positions with Washington Gas Light Company, American University and Washington University in St. Louis.

In addition to serving as VSE Chairman of the Board, he also serves on the boards of I360, Inc. and Burdeshaw Associates, Ltd.

Currently Mr. Kendall devotes a great deal of his time and energy to higher education. He is a member of the Board of Regents for the University System of Maryland and is serving his eighth year as Chairman. He is also on the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges Board of Directors, and the George Washington University Business School Advisory Board.

In November 2010, Mr. Kendall was inducted to the Greater Washington Government Contractor Hall of Fame during the 8th Annual Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards(TM) gala in Tysons Corner, VA.
