VSE Corporation Subsidiary Akimeka Certified ISO 9001:2008

Audit identified several QMS Best Practice Areas

ALEXANDRIA, Va.-- VSE Corporation (NASDAQ:VSEC) reported today that subsidiary, Akimeka, successfully reached a significant milestone in becoming certified to the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems standards and guidelines. The audits leading to the certification were conducted at the Akimeka offices in Maitland, Florida, San Antonio, Texas and Maui, Hawaii, by the British Standards Institution (BSI).

Originally developed in 2007 and previously certified as an ISO 9001:2000 system, the Akimeka Quality Management System (QMS) went through a rigorous verification and validation process during the 4^th quarter of 2010.

Akimeka President and COO John Harris said, "Our hard work paid off as the Maitland BSI auditor identified our QMS as a best practice in several areas including our comprehensive and detailed metrics dashboard, quarterly management review, comprehensive QMS documents, tight document control and our Infrastructure Control Board (ICB). The ICB was also recognized by the San Antonio BSI auditor who indicated using the practice as a benchmark for future audits."
